Yuhi cannot break out of the silent reader act he created, so nobody in class ever speaks to him. Nano, a self-declared elite space merchant, keeps forcing contracts and gadgets on him: friendship pills, mind-reading tools, body-swapping devices. They all work, but the side effects are brutal and each one detonates into a public disaster. Parasites Nyorpup and Panpippi settle in as well, making his isolation galactically worse. Still, every mess strips away another layer of pretence, and the volume ends by hinting that the Yumeneko Company sent Nano to profit from his wish for a friend.
